First Annual Pool Party
The past 7 months have led up to one of the most memorable nights of my life. I teamed up with two NYC based brands to throw one of the most amazing pool parties to ever happen. This was LBB's first event and it surely set a precedent that seems impossible to surpass at the moment but if there's anything you should know about me, it's that I always try to do it better than the last.
When I first started LBB, my vision was always to make it more than just swimwear; I wanted it to become a lifestyle, a society of badass women -- hence the Instagram name. This meant everything from clothing to events to festivals to pretty much anything you can imagine. It was in that moment that I knew I wanted to throw insane pool parties every year and what better way to celebrate new swim collections every summer, right? What I didn't know was how much f*cking work it would be.
In order to have a successful and memorable event I knew I wouldn't have been able to pull it off alone. That's when I decided to not make it just about myself. Selangie, of the namesake brand SEL, and I had always known of each other through mutual friends but never in a million years did I think she would be down to host an event with me. To my surprise, the love and support she showed throughout the whole process is something I'll never take for granted. Chelsey and Chyanne of En Dieu were also an incredible addition; they are two stylish women in their own right with a brand to match. Their bougie online presence and aura of exclusivity is what attracted me to them and I'm so so so so happy they agreed to do this with us. Our event was a prime example of what it looks like when women genuinely support other women.
January-June consisted of endless planning and emailing. Finding venues, finding sponsors, finding the funds to keep everything afloat. One year's worth of ideas and six months of execution turned into such an epic all-girls pool party. Thank you to everyone who attended and a special thank you to everyone who helped me pull this off, especially to the 3 boss babes in the making. Cheers to all four of us and to many more pool parties!!
